MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State University men's basketball coach Vince Alexander announces the 2023-24 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.  The schedule features 12 home games and 16 games on the road. Coach Alexander's team plays six teams that were featured in the 2023 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship and travel to play in a pair of marquee tournaments. 
 
"Once again, I believe we have put together one of the top schedules in division II basketball," said Coach Alexander.  "We will be competing against several NCAA tournament teams from last season as well as competing in arguably the toughest Division II conference in the country.  We look forward to playing a challenging schedule."
 
The Lakers open their 2023-24 schedule at the Southeast Region Challenge on the campus of Anderson University.  Clayton State will play NCAA Tournament team Emmanuel on Saturday, November 11^th while play the host Anderson on Sunday, November 12^th.  On Saturday, November 18^th, the Lakers open their home slate of games hosting another NCAA tournament team Miles College.  The Lakers stay at the Loch for games against Morehouse on November 22^nd and Clark Atlanta on November 29^th.  The Lakers then hit the road for six straight away games starting at Carson-Newman on December 2^nd.  After a trip to Fort Valley State on December 12^th, the Lakers play in the Florida Southern Classic on December 16^th and the 17^th.  They will play Barry and Florida Southern in that tournament. 
 
After a trip to Albany State on December 30^th, the Lakers will open Peach Belt Conference play in Dahlonega, against another NCAA Tournament team North Georgia on January 3^rd.  Coach Alexander's squad will then play at the Loch for three of the next four as they host USC Beaufort, Lander, and Columbus State.  After the Lakers travel to Flagler on Saturday, January 20^th, they will host Georgia College & State and USC Aiken on January 24^th and 27^th, respectively.  Clayton State will then hit the road for four the next five games with stops at Georgia Southwestern, USC Beaufort, Lander, and Columbus State.  During that stretch, Clayton State welcome NCAA Tournament team Augusta University to the Loch on Wednesday, February 7^th. 
 
The Lakers close with three of the last five inside the Loch.  During that stretch, Clayton State will play Flagler for the annual Homecoming game on Saturday, February 17^th at 5 p.m. Also featured in that final stretch of the season, Coach Alexander will honor his seniors on Saturday, March 2^nd as they host North Georgia.
