DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's basketball concluded its 2024-25 season on the road at North Georgia on Saturday afternoon. The Nighthawks came out on top, 56-53.
The Nighthawks jumped out to a 14-5 lead early in the first half.
DJ Wright hit a three and
Jamall Clyce knocked a jumper on the run. After the Lakers got within five at 18-13, UNG went on a 14-7 run and led 33-17.
Emmanuel Jones accounted for all seven point for the Lakers during that stretch.
The Lakers saw threes from
Dashaun Joseph and Wright in the final minutes of the half but the Nighthawks led, 39-28 at the half.

Aaron Pitts started heating up for the Lakers in the second half and scored six of the first 11 points and made the score, 42-39. The Lakers then took their first lead of the game at 45-44 after
Lay Davis and Wright made back-to-back baskets. After Wright made a three to make the score, 48-46, Lakers, UNG went on an 8-0 run and retook the lead at 54-49.
The Lakers were unable to muster any offense in the final two minutes of the game as they went onto fall in Dahlonega, 56-53.
