Men's Cross Country | October 22, 2022
Huntsville, Ala. – The Clayton State University men's and women's cross country teams raced in its final meet before the Peach Belt Conference Championships as they competed in the D2 Festival Year Showcase on Saturday morning. The men's team finished 44
th out of 50 schools while the women placed in 37
th out of 44 schools.
Leading the way for the Lakers, on the men's side, was
Camron Gaddis. Gaddis ran the fastest time by a men's runner this season finishing with a time of 27:58.70. Following Gaddis is
Gabriel Oliveras. The Laker freshman finished with a time of 29:08.40.
Darryl Jefferson and
Terry Mitchner then finished third and fourth on the team with times of 29:22.80 and 29:26, respectively. Rounding out the men finishers was
Nigel Collins. Collins crossed the finish line in 30:33.40.
On the women's side,
Jada Warren continues to lead the charge for the Lakers. Warren crossed the finish line in 20:06.30. Following Warren was
Tanaeya Johnson, who finished her 5k in 20:50.20.
Ahlana Failey and
Ashley Johnson then followed finishing third and fourth on the team. Failey clocked in a time of 21:31.60 while Johnson finished in 21:49.70. The Laker that finished fifth on the team was
Ivorie Smith who finished with a time of 22:11.20. Then,
Stephanie Escobar finished sixth on the team with a time of 22:13.90.
Sasha Knowles,
JaBresha Palmer, and
Kalkidan Hawkins rounded out the runners for the Lakers on the women's side.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Both the men's and women's teams prepare for the Peach Belt Conference Championships on Saturday, November 5
th at Redcliffe Plantation in Beech Island, S.C. The Championships are hosted by Augusta University and the men's race takes off at 9 a.m. while the women start at 10:15 a.m.
