MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Clayton State University cross country teams are set to compete in the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Championships on Saturday morning. The Lakers are looking to make some noise in a stacked field of some of the best teams in the Southeast Region.

MEN'S PREVIEW
At the beginning of the season, the Peach Belt Conference Coaches picked the Laker men's team to finish fourth in the championships. The Lakers have really come along this season and have seen some brilliant performances. Leading the way for the men's team is
Camron Gaddis. Gaddis has continued to shine this season as he ran the 10
th fastest time in program history at the UAH Charger XC Invitational finishing with a time of 25:39.7. He has also finished in the top 30 in all four races competed in and has led the team in each race.
Emanuel Dixon and
James Morrow also led the Lakers going into the conference meet. Dixon has had a solid season finishing in the top three on the team in each of the first four meets. Emanuel solidified his PR at the UAH Charger XC Invitational on October 11
th finishing with a time of 26:35.8 which was good for 22
nd all time.
Morrow, who has quietly had a very strong season for Clayton State, enters the conference meet with a lot of confidence. James has marked three new PRs this season and has finished in the top three on the team in the last three races. Morrow set his current PR at the Georgia Tech XC Invitational, clocking a time of 26:35.1, which is good for 21
st all-time. The supporting cast of
Mykell Strickland,
Dion Dial, and
Nehemiah Horton has also put in the work this season for the Lakers. Each of those three Lakers will need to have breakout performances for the Lakers to succeed in this field.
WOMEN'S PREVIEW
At the beginning of the season, the Peach Belt Conference coaches picked the Laker women's team to finish in sixth place. The Lakers have had a solid season posting many top performances up and down the lineup. Leading the way for the team is
Jada Warren. Warren, who returned to Morrow after a season at GCSU, has had a successful 2025. Warren led the team in each of the four races competed in and set a new PR in the 6K. At the UAH Charger XC invitational, Jada clocked a final time of 23:49.7, which is good for 18
th all-time. She has also had three top 30 finishes including a fourth-place finish at the Willie Laster Invitational on September 19
th.
Following Warren is
Ivorie Smith and
Marley Tate. Smith, in her senior season, finished in the top three in three races and saw her season best time at the UNG XC Invitational clocking a time of 21:01.6. Like Jada, Ivorie also posted a PR in her 6K race at the UAH Charger XC Invitational with a time of 25:16.9. Tate rounds out the top three on the team. Marley finished in the top two in a pair of races and finished 15
th at the Willie Laster Invitational. The Lakers are also going to look to upperclassmen
Ahlana Failey and
Kalkidan Hawkins to have successful times at the Championships as well. Coach Hickom will also look to get solid times from his freshmen
Maleena Castillo and
Amaya Myers as well.
