Senior defender Janne Brouer (Aarhus, Denmark) anchored a Laker team that opened 3-1 and allowed just five goals over the first four games of the season. During that time she not only averaged 97 minutes per game, including 107 minutes against Christian Brothers (9/13) and 101 vs. Queens (9/15) in back-to-back games, she also scored in each contest.
 
That included the game-tying goal in a 2-1 win at Valdosta State (9/8) and the game-winner in overtime vs. CBU. The latter would come just minutes after she got knocked to the ground and nearly out of the game. Additionally she scored the tying goal against the Royals.
 
For the month she logged a team-high tying 388 minutes with four goals on eight shots, five of which were on frame.
