Senior Jessica Matthews (Monroe, Ga.) earned her second straight award following a performance for the ages.
 
Having earned a second trip to the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in the triple jump, she earned All-American honors with a third place national finish. Not only that, she became the first Laker, men’s or women’s, to best their own personal best twice at a championship.
 
For Matthews, this meant breaking her own school record twice. She is the first All-American from the women’s indoor program and sixth overall including outdoor.
 
Additionally, she earned two outdoor NCAA Provisional Qualifications with a 1-of-12 outing at the Tiger Orange & Blue Classic and a 3-of-26 outing at the Shorter Invitational.
