Junior Nia Elmore (Hinesville, Ga.) delivered yet another program record, along with other impressive performances, as the Lakers opened the 2018-19 indoor track & field season.
Â
Competing at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker (11/30) in Birmingham, Alabama, Elmore shattered her own mark in the 200-meters with a time of 25.61. That time surpassed her previous mark of 25.94 set at the Emory CrossPlex Invitational on January 21, 2018 and was good enough for an 11-of-74 finish. In addition to being her 15th overall program record, it is her eighth during indoor competition.
Â
She also delivered an impressive 17-of-71 outing in the 60-meters, registering a time of 7.83 and was part of a 4x400-meter relay that was 10-of-21 with a personal best time of 4:10.38. In the latter, she was joined by junior Jasmine Radford (Lawrenceville, Ga.), sophomore Chaviya Jackson (Albany, Ga.) and senior Sierra Glenn (Riverdale, Ga.).
