Men's Track & Field | February 22, 2026
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Clayton State University men's and women's track & field teams are set to compete in the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Lakers are looking to improve from last season where the women's team finished third and the men finished in fifth. Earlier this year, the Peach Belt Conference coaches voted for both the men's and women's team to finish fourth in these Championships.
COACH BROWN'S THOUGHTS
"I am feeling confident and pretty good about how the team has performed up to this point and I looking for some good performances. Everyone should be primed to run if they execute and do their jobs."
"We have a young and hungry team that is ready to get out there and dominate. We added few new additions in areas where we did not earn any points in previous years. I hope that will help us in the standings in the conference."
"On any given day, you can rise to the occasion to get that big jump and nice sprint time. I am looking forward to seeing some great team performances and my expectation is to finish in the top three and for our athletes to do their best. "

MEET INFORMATION
MEN'S SIDE
The men are led by seniors
Davonte Jackson and
Camron Gaddis as well as sprinters
Marcus Robinson and
Kevin Turner. Jackson is arguably the most well-rounded male on the team. Davonte, who earned the PBC Outdoor Male Athlete of the Year, enters the Championships with the third best long jump mark and 60m hurdle time and the fifth best triple jump mark. Jackson is looking to duplicate past performances in this PBC meet. Gaddis, who is a senior from Lawrenceville, enters the championships with a fifth best mile time and is a part of the DMR team. Robinson and Turner lead the Lakers in the sprints. Robinson, who broke the school record in the 60m dash, holds the second fastest time and Turner holds the fourth fastest. In the 200m dash, Robinson enters the meet with the fifth fastest time and Turner holds the 10
th fastest.
Christian Wiltshire, who enters as the fourth best high jumper,
Rakiem Barnes, who is currently sixth in the conference in the 800m run, and the 4x400m relay team also joins this deep men's lineup for the Championships.
WOMEN'S SIDE
The women are led by sprinters
Destiny Hanna,
Jada Jenkins, and
Ziona Harris and mid-distance standout
Marley Tate. Hanna holds the second fastest 60m dash time (7.84) and 200m dash time (25.72) while Jenkins is in fourth in the 60m dash (7.90) and in the 200m dash (25.87). Both sprinters are looking to make some noise in those two events. Tate, who is a senior from Indiana, ran the fastest time in the 400m dash this season and was a part of the 4x400m relay team that enters the meet as the second fastest team. Harris rounds out the impact sprinters for Coach Brown and the Lakers. Harris enters as the seventh fastest 400m dash and 200m dash runner. Joining these ladies are
Gabriella Lawrence, who looks to make some noise in the jumps, the Laker tandem of
Hailey Jackson-Morgan and
Jacquelyn Johnson in the throws, and
Keira Davis in the pole vault and high jump.
