MORROW, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Monday that Clayton State track & field standouts
Davonte Jackson and
Ziona Harris earned Players of the Week honors.
Jackson, who earned the Male Field Athlete of the Week, had a great meet at the 2026 KMS Invitational. Davonte earned the meet win the triple jump with a final mark of 14.21m, which is fifth in the conference. In addition, Jackson broke a 20-year school record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.38 and finished second overall in the race. That time is good for third in the conference. This is the second time this season that Jackson earned the Field Athlete of the Week.
Harris, who earned the Female Track Athlete of the Week, had a solid showing at the 2026 KMS Invitational. Ziona earned the individual victory in the 400m dash with a time of 60.85. That time is good for fourth overall in the league. In addition, Harris also earned a pair of victories in the 4x200m and 4x400m relays. This is the first time this season that Harris earned this distinction.
The Lakers continue their season on Friday, February 6
th as they travel back to Birmingham competing in the UAB Black and Gold Invitational.
