MORROW, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its men's soccer Players of the Week on Monday. Clayton State University soccer players
Asbjorn Saevik and
George Roke earned Player of the Week honors.
A native of Ulsteinvik, Norway, Saevik earned the Conference's Defensive Player of the Week. Last week, Asbjorn scored a goal in the 2-0 victory over Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday and notched an assist in Sunday's 3-2 victory over USC Aiken. Saevik has recorded at least one point in three of the last four matches. The Laker defensive unit has pitched four shutouts this season.
A native of Broomsgrove, England, Roke earned his second Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season. Roke pitched his third shutout of the season in the 2-0 victory over Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday afternoon. He made four saves in that match. In the 3-2 victory over USC Aiken, George made two incredible match-saving saves in the final minute of play to lift the Lakers to victory. This season has saw Roke make 45 saves and amass a 1.20 GAA.
