MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University men's soccer team hosts the Quarterfinals of the 2025 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Men's Soccer Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Lakers are looking to reach their third straight PBC Tournament Championship game.

POSTSEASON HISTORY
The Lakers are 23-22 all-time in the PBC Tournament and 5-3 in the past four seasons. The Lakers are appearing in their third straight championship game. The Lakers and Hurricanes have never met in the PBC Tournament.

The Lakers went 1-0-1 against these Hurricanes in the 2025 season. Clayton State shut the Hurricanes out, 4-0, on October 8
th, while the two teams finished in a 3-3 draw on Saturday, November 1
st. The Hurricanes are led by their two all-conference selections in Casar Rubio-Amaya and Axel-Ambroise Gravel. Rubio-Amaya was selected as the Conference's Gold Ball winner as he scored a conference-high 10 goals and added three assists. Rubio-Amaya scored a goal and added an assist on November 1
st against Clayton State. Gravel, who also scored against CSU on November 1
st, is second on the team with six goals. Those two have combined for 16 goals and seven assists this season.

The Lakers are led by their first-team All-Conference selection
Gonzalo LaChica. LaChica leads the team with six goals scored and is second on the team with six assists. Gonzalo leads the PBC with 45 shots. In addition, LaChica has notched 18 points, which is fifth in the conference. Also leading the Lakers into this match is
Camilo Velez. Velez, who was selected to his first all-conference mention, leads the team with seven assists and is second on the team with 28 shots. Against GSW on October 8
th, Velez assisted on a pair of goals.
Also leading the Lakers are defenders
Aaron Overmars,
Sonny Simpson, and
Othmane Chagour. Both Overmars and Simpson enters play with three goals scored. Chagour, who earned second-team All-Conference honors, leads a defensive unit that pitched five shutouts and only conceded two or fewer goals in 14 of 18 matches. In net, the Lakers will look to
George Roke for guidance. Roke made a PBC second-best 54 saves and conceded the third fewest goals in the conference (19).
