Men's Soccer Bows Out of the PBC Tournament in 1-0 Loss at North Georgia

The Lakers finish the season with an 8-8-4 record

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The #4 Clayton State University men's soccer team faced the top-seeded Nighthawks of the University of North Georgia in the Semifinals of the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer Championship on Wednesday evening.  The Lakers saw their season come to an end as they fell, 1-0.

The first half proved to be a quiet half offensively for the Lakers as they only mustered a single shot which came off the leg of Asbjorn Saevik in the 11th minute.  However, UNG peppered George Roke for 10 shots but two of which were on frame.  The two teams played to a 0-0 tie at the end of the first 45 minutes.

Halftime: #4 Clayton State 0, #1 North Georgia 0

The Lakers brought more pressure in the second half as Fabian Wagner sent in a shot in the first few minutes.  The Lakers then saw shots from Aaron Overmars and Gonzalo LaChica in the 55th minute.  Clayton State then kept knocking on the door with shots from Camilo Velez and Saevik.  The score remained at 0-0.  However, with as much pressure the Lakers put on, the Nighthawks also had some spurts of pressure.  In the 78th minute, UNG scored the match's lone goal and made the score, 1-0.

The Lakers did not see any more real chances as they fell, 1-0, to North Georgia.
