MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State women's soccer team announces on Tuesday morning its 2023 schedule.  The schedule consists of seven home contests and nine road matches.  The Lakers are coming off a 2021 season where they went 3-10-2 overall and 3-5-2 in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC).  The Lakers play three schools that reached the NCAA Tournament last season in Columbus State, Flagler, and North Georgia.  Columbus State reached the Final Four in last season's tournament. 

"I am really excited about the schedule we have put together," said Head Coach Ross Henderson. "It is a very competitive one, with some strong newer additions in Delta State and University of West Alabama. We are looking forward to our early season Florida trip where both Men's and Women's teams will be playing two games over the weekend, and always look forward to our PBC matchups. Every game is a challenging one which we are eager to get in to."
 
The Lakers kick off the 2023 at Laker Field on August 31^st as they host the Blazers of Valdosta State at 2 p.m. After a road contest against West Alabama on September 3^rd, the Lakers host Delta State for the first time on September 5^th.  Clayton State then travel to the Sunshine State for a pair of matches with Rollins and Saint Leo.  Henderson's squad then opens PBC play as they travel to Bluffton, S.C. to face USC Beaufort on September 16^th.  After a match at Columbus State on September 20^th, the Lakers return home to play USC Aiken on September 23^rd and North Georgia on September 30^th. 
 
Clayton State then hits the road for two more matches against Georgia College & State and Flagler before hosting Lander and Auburn Montgomery on October 11^th and the 15^th respectively.  The Lakers then finish their regular season with two on the road at Georgia Southwestern on October 18^th and at Anderson on October 25^th and conclude the season at Laker Field hosting Albany State on October 30^th. 
 
As the season approaches closer, the Department of Athletics will announce a promotions schedule.  Stay tuned to claytonstatesports.com for the most updated information and the schedule is subjected to change.
