MORROW, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's soccer team hosted the #9 North Georgia Nighthawks on Senior Saturday from Laker Field. The Lakers were shutout, 3-0.
The Nighthawks brought the pressure immediately to the Laker defensive unit as
Rubie Kelley made a save on four shots faced in the first 10 minutes. UNG tacked on the match's first goal in 8
th minute and made the score, 1-0. They added to their lead in the 19
th and 27
th minute and made the score, 3-0, going into the halftime break. The Lakers saw their best opportunity come in 29
th minute when
Laila Ortiz-Nolan sent in a shot from the far side box but it was saved by the Nighthawk keeper.
Halftime: #9 UNG 3, Clayton State 0
The Lakers were pressured the entire second half as they were outshot, 10-0 in the half.
Claire Smith made five saves on the half. The Lakers did not see any great scoring opportunities and dropped the match, 3-0. The Lakers were outshot, 22-4 on the match.

The Lakers (4-9-2 (3-6-1 PBC)) await their opponent in the 2025 Peach Belt Conference Women's Soccer Tournament which will take place on Saturday, November 8
