Women's Cross Country | September 16, 2022
MACON, Ga. – The Clayton State University women's cross country team competed in the Julius Johnson Invitational, hosted by Mercer and Middle Georgia State, on Friday morning. As a team, the Lakers finished in 5
th place out of 11 schools.
Leading the charge for the Lakers was freshman
Jada Warren. Warren finished in 18
th place with a time of 20:29.0. In addition, Warren was the top Division II finisher in the race. Following Warren was newcomers
Ahlana Failey and
Tanaeya Johnson. Failey finished in 37
th place with a time of 21:57.0 while Johnson crossed the finish line in 39
th place with a time of 22:01.0. Rounding out the top 50 finishers was
Ashley Johnson and
Sasha Knowles. Johnson placed in 49
th and crossed the finish line with a time of 23:44.0 while Knowles grabbed the 50
th spot with a time of 23:48.0.
JaBresha Palmer finished in 51
st place, while
Ivorie Smith and
Stephanie Escobar crossed the finish line in 53
rd and 54
th place, respectively. As a team, the Lakers accumulated 135 points and finished in 5
th place.
