Walker, Waite Named to PBC Men's and Women's Basketball Teams of Academic Distinction

PBC Men's and Women's Basketball Teams of Academic Distinction

Morrow, Ga. – Jordan Walker and Jadah Waite were named to the Peach Belt Conference men's and women's basketball Teams of Academic Distinction Monday afternoon.

Walker, a Savannah, Ga. native, is set to graduate this summer with a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA). His cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a 3.53 is the highest recorded for the men's basketball team.

Waite, who just completed her second freshman season of competition after receiving a Covid-19 waiver, earned a 3.32 GPA and is majoring in Sociology. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native earned the highest GPA on the women's basketball team.

The Peach Belt Conference men's and women's basketball Teams of Academic Distinction are presented by Barnes & Noble College and are a part of the PBC's larger initiative to celebrate the academic achievements of PBC student-athletes. The program is modeled after the CoSIDA Academic All-America program.

To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.
