Na'ilah Allen (McDonough, Ga.) earned Top-10 honors as Clayton State posted a runner-up finish at the 2019 Clayton State Cross Country Challenge on Friday, September 27. They finished 2-of-8 with 70 points.

Allen delivered a 6-of-48 performance with a time of 21:00.97 to pace the Lakers while sophomore
Stephanie Escobar (Forest Park, Ga.) notched an 11
th place finish at 22:11.31.

Senior
Laura Shkembi (Oostende, Belgium) wasn't far behind in 13
th (22:27.18) and freshman
Sasha Knowles (Nassau, Bahamas) came in at 19
th with a mark of 23:28.34. Sophomore
Asia Love (Riverdale, Ga.) closed out the top performers in 21
st at 24:13.65.

The meet marked the first time the program had hosted since the 2001 Peach Belt Conference Championship on October 20 and the CCSU Invitational on September 22 of that year. Prior to that they had hosted the Clayton State Harrier Meet on October 13, 1999 and October 14, 1998.

Columbus State took home this year's hardware as they produced the top five runners and 15 points for the victory.

The Lakers will be right back in action next week as they head to the 14
th Annual Foothills Invitational on Saturday, October 5. Hosted by Division I Jacksonville State, race time is slated for 10 a.m. (EST) in Jacksonville, Alabama.
