Women's Cross Country | September 18, 2026
OAKWOOD, Ga. – The Clayton State University cross country teams ran in the UNG XC Invitational under the Friday night lights. The men's team finished in third while the women placed eighth out of 13 teams. Young Harris won the men's race while Georgia Southern were crowned the women's champions.
MEN'S RACE
The Lakers were led by
Nehemiah Horton who placed sixth overall with a time of 29:12.9. This is the Horton's second top 10 individual finish and his highest finish in his Laker career dating back to 2023. Following close behind was
Mykell Strickland. Mykell finished in 13
th with a time of 30:15.1. This is his second straight top 25 individual finish of the season and his second best finish in his career.
Dion Dial,
Miles Johnson, and
Josh Soluade rounded out the Lakers in the field. Dial crossed the finish line in 16
th place with a time of 30:43.1. Johnson, who finished in 26
th place, clocked a time of 32:17.4 while Soluade ran a time of 34:20.2 and placed 38
th. Miles' 26
th finish is good for the highest individual finish in his two seasons at Clayton State.

WOMEN'S SIDE
The Ladies team were led by
Gisele Cabrera and
Jamea Lindley. Cabrera and Lindley finished 30
th and 31
st, with times of 20:49.4 and 20:54.3, respectively. Both ladies ran season best times.
India Williamson followed close behind with a PR time of 21:18.0, finishing in 37
th place.
Ahlana Failey and
Amaya Myers round out the top five on the team for the Lakers. Failey clocked a time of 21:32.3 while Myers ran a time of 22:44.8. Myers' time is good for a new PR while Failey ran a season-best mark.
