Clayton State will host the 2019 Clayton State Cross Country Challenge Presented by Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Friday, September 27, marking the first home meet since the 2001 season. That year they hosted the CCSU Invitational on September 22 and the 2001 Peach Belt Conference Championships on October 20. This will be the fifth meet in the history of the program with the only others being the Clayton State Harrier Meet on October 14, 1998 and October 13, 1999.
This year's meet will feature an 8k men's race beginning at 6 p.m. with the 5k women's race set for a 6:45 p.m. start time. Both races will be held on property adjacent to Mount Zion Baptist Church located less than a mile from Exit 231 on I-75. The course will consist of a multi-loop layout of gently rolling hills situated primarily on grass. The design lends itself to being both coach and spectator friendly.
