OAKWOOD, Ga. – Clayton State women's cross country opened the 25
th season in program history as they finished 7-of-14 at the Seventh Annual UNG Invitational on Saturday, September 14. As a team they finished with 197 points.
Leading the way for the Lakers was junior
Na'ilah Allen (McDonough, Ga.) as she came in 23-of-116 (21:05.00) and was followed by senior
Laura Shkembi (Oostende, Belgium) in 37
th (22:37.20) and sophomore
Stephanie Escobar (Forest Park, Ga.) in 40
th (22:44.20).
Freshman
Sasha Knowles (Nassau, Bahamas) finished 58
th with a time of 24:10.20 in her first collegiate race while sophomore
Asia Love (Riverdale, Ga.) rounded things out in 71
st with a mark of 25:51.20.
Clayton State will be right back in action with the season now in full swing as they head to nearby Cartersville, Georgia for the 2019 Wingfoot XC Classic on Friday, September 20. That meet is slated for a 7:10 p.m. start.
