OXFORD, Ala. – For the second straight meet, senior
Ariel Boyd-Ghani (Morrow, Ga.) was the top finisher for Clayton State women's cross country as they placed 12-of-19 at the 13
th Annual JSU Foothills Invitational on Saturday, September 29.

Boyd-Ghani came in 42-of-163 with a time of 20:43.70 and was followed by sophomore
Na'ilah Allen (McDonough, Ga.) in 62
nd (21:37.60). Senior
Lynnet Kosgei (Eldoret, Kenya) followed in 71
st at 21:45.50 with senior
Carla Catala Martin (Barcelona, Spain) at 93
rd (22:54.50). Freshman
Stephanie Escobar (Forest Park, Ga.) rounded things out in 96
th with a time of 23:19.40.

As a team the Lakers finished with 292 points and was the seventh highest finishing non-Division I program. Division III Emory (56) led that group while Samford (22) led the Division I contingent.

Clayton State will now be off until Friday, October 12 when they head to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Royals XC Challenge. That 5k race is slated for a 4 p.m. start.
