Jessica Chaman was one of the most decorated student athletes in the program’s history.  In her Laker career, Jessica played 34 matches in net and saved 154 shots, while facing 353 shots.  It was the work she did off the pitch that really set herself out from the rest.  Following the 2017 season, Charman was awarded the Peach Belt Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year, which she still is the only Laker to earn this distinction.

She was also a three-time Peach Belt All-Academic Team member and was a first team Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Athlete. Upon graduating from Clayton State, Jessica dipped her toes into professional broadcasting as she was the first radio Color Commentator for Charlotte FC and has broadcasted USL Super League, USL Championship, the SheBelieves Cup, NWSL, and was a commentator in the 2025 Club World Cup on DAZN.

Currently, Charman is one of the regular play-by-play broadcasters of the MLS on Apple TV and hosts the PLAYED IN show on Sirus XM which is a show dedicated to women’s soccer.
