Senior defender Janne Brouer (Aarhus, Denmark) put forth another tremendous defensive effort as her 180 minutes of work over the course of two games resulted in just one score and a shutout. On top of that, she had the deciding score in that blanking.

She opened the week at No. 20 North Georgia (10/23), playing a full 90 minutes and keeping the Nighthawks scoreless until the 72nd minute in a narrow 1-0 defeat. In an incredible effort, while UNG fired off 13 shots, they were held to just two on goal.

Brouer would seal the deal in her final game of the week as the Lakers headed to Francis Marion (10/26) for a critical Peach Belt Conference meeting. Taking on the team directly in front of them in the standings as they entered the day in the ninth spot, Clayton State posted a dominant defensive effort.

They allowed just three shots all day and only one of those would land on goal. Already a large part of that effort as she played the full 90 minutes, Brouer would make like a starting pitcher in baseball as she helped her own cause. With 38:08 gone by she would take a pass from Manoly Baquerizo and drill it to the back of the net for the game's only goal in a 1-0 victory.

That score would be her team-leading sixth of the year and make her the highest scoring pure defender in the league. Overall she ranks in a tie for 10th in the PBC and has helped her team to eight games of one goal allowed or fewer including a pair of shutouts.
