Freshman midfielder Ann-Cathrin Zabel (Schwarme, Germany) put forther another outstanding performance over the course of two games this past week.

After being held in check by No. 9 Carson-Newman (9/27), which only barely escaped with a 2-1 victory, Zabel capitalized on her opportunities at Francis Marion (9/30).

In that game she erupted for seven points on three goals and an assist to power a 6-0 Clayton State victory. The seven points were the most by a Laker in more than seven years. Co-PBC Player of the Year Cherie Sayon had nine points with four goals and an assist against Brevard on September 11, 2010 as the most recent with such a performance.

It is Zabel's second hat trick of the season and pushes her season total to six goals, a total that ranks in a tie for second in the PBC. She is also tied for fourth in the league with 14 points.
