Junior guard Aubrey McRae (Augusta, Ga.) lit it up against his hometown team as he fueled an 87-76 victory over Augusta (12/30) in the final action on the Lakers 2017 calendar.
In that one game he dropped a career-high 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including a near record 6-of-9 performance from beyond the arc. The latter was one three from tying the program single game record of seven set three times previously, most recently by Saiquan Terry on February 18, 2015.
His 25 points surpassed his previous career-high of 21 points set at LeMoyne-Owen on November 20, 2017 and helped Clayton State pull into a first place tie in the Peach Belt Conference while knocking the Jaguars from the ranks of the unbeaten. On the season he is averaging 13.3 points per game and shooting .429 from the field, .400 from beyond the arc and .800 at the foul line.
