Competing at the Tennessee Challenge (5/6), sophomore T.J. Witherspoon (Thomasville, Ga) delivered a strong performance against a primarily Division I field.

He would post a time of 1:55.15 in the 800-meters, finishing 6-of-25. His time was good enough to beat nine Division I competitors, including four from the University of Tennessee's vaunted program.
