Senior guard Taneria Wilson (Fort Pierce, Fla.) opened 2019-20 in fine form as she averaged 17.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 1.5 assists over the course of two games against teams that are typically among the best in the nation.
Â
She opened the week against Wingate (11/8) in a rematch of last year's NCAA Tournament loss and led the Lakers to a 78-74 come-from-behind victory. In 33 minutes she put up 15 points, five boards, a career-high tying six steals and a pair of assists.
Â
Wilson would follow with another impressive outing the following day, this time against No. 13 Anderson (11/9). In that one she finished with 19 points, six caroms, four more steals and an assist for good measure. Despite that effort, the Trojans would escape with a 68-61 victory.
