Senior forward Kelsie Towns (Butler, Ga.) helped lead Clayton State to a 2-0 week with averages of 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks to go with a .423 (11-of-26) mark from the field. That number included an impressive 7-of-14 (.500) from beyond the arc.

That performance would begin in the mountains of North Georgia with a midweek battle at Young Harris (1/8). In that one she finished with 10 points, five rebounds, a steal and a block in a defensive slugfest. That effort would help the Lakers pull out a hard-fought 55-52 victory.

In a higher scoring affair to close the week against USC Aiken (1/11) she notched 22 points while hitting on 8-of-14 shots, 4-of-7 were from long range. Towns also ripped down seven boards to go with two more blocks in a 79-64 victory against a solid Pacer team.

The two wins moved Clayton State to 4-1 in the Peach Belt Conference and currently have them in a tie for third in the league.
