Senior forward Kelsie Towns (Butler, Ga.) was a difference maker in a pair of Peach Belt Conference victories as she averaged 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists to go with a .480 (12-of-25) mark from the field and .500 (7-of-14) percentage from beyond the arc.
On the road at UNC Pembroke (12/19) for their PBC opener, Towns just missed a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds to go along with three assists. That would help fuel a commanding 81-67 victory.
She wouldn't miss much as the Lakers closed out the week, and 2019, with a 67-42 win over Georgia College (12/21). In that one she scored a career-high 24 points while going 9-of-14 from the field. The latter included a 5-of-6 performance from beyond the arc, including hitting on her first five and fueling a decisive first half run. Towns would add five boards and an assist to round out the week.
