MORROW, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) unveiled its first Male & Female Outdoor Track & Field Track Athletes of the Week on Monday. Clayton State University sprinters
Davonte Jackson and
Jada Jenkins were selected for these honors. Both Jenkins and Jackson had standout performances for the Lakers in the opening week of competition.
JADA JENKINS | Senior | McDonough, Ga.
Jenkins led the Laker women in the sprints at the Savannah State Eye Opener on Saturday. Jada finished third overall in the 100m dash and 4
th in the 200m dash. Her 100m dash time of 12.63 is good for sixth in the conference and her 200m time of 25.97 is good for fifth in the league. Jenkins was also a part of the 4x100m relay team that placed second in the meet with a time of 48.51 which is good for third in the league.
DAVONTE JACKSON | Senior | Locust Grove, Ga.
Coming off a strong indoor season, Jackson carried that momentum into the outdoor season in this meet. Jackson placed fifth overall in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.10, which is currently second in the conference. In the 400m hurdles, Jackson won the event and is currently leading the PBC easily with a time of 54.55. He is less than a second off of provisional qualifying in the event. Jackson was also a part of the 4x400m relay team that finished in second in the meet with a time of 3:19.23, which good for the second-best time in league.
