MORROW, Ga. – Former Clayton State University women's basketball standout Audrey McElhaney inked a professional basketball contract with Serbian SuperLeague Club: Duga.

McElhaney is the first Laker to sign a professional contract since Taneria Wilson in 2020.  In all, McElhaney is the fifth Laker in program history to ink a professional contract joining Kayla Mobley, Jamika Hindsman, and Tanisha Woodard.

"I am very happy for Audrey and this opportunity that she has right now to play overseas," said head women's basketball coach Kaleena Coleman. "I know she will do great things.  Duga is getting a great player and an even better person in Audrey.  Whenever we can, we will be watching."

McElhaney, who played for the Lakers from 2020-23, was a three-time all-Peach Belt Conference (PBC) selection including earning first team recognition in the 2020-21 and 2022-23 seasons. In the 2022-23 season, the PBC selected McElhaney as the Defensive Player of the Year.  In addition, Audrey was selected as the Female Laker Award recipient, which is given to a student-athlete that exceled not only on the playing field but in the classroom and in the community.  Audrey was also a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll recipient.

In her three year career, McElhaney averaged 13.2 points a game, which is tied for seventh all-time and 7.2 boards a game, which is seventh all-time. In addition, the Laker forward is fourth all-time with 237 free throws made, is second all-time with 275 total offensive rebounds, and is the 12th leading scorer in program history with 966 points. In her illustrious career, Audrey notched nine double-doubles and scored a career high 33 points back on January 5th, 2022.  In that game, McElhaney broke the school record with 19 free throws attempted.
