AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Thursday morning its 2022-23 Presidential Honor Roll selections. This honor roll is presented by Barnes & Noble College.
The honor roll recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of PBC student-athletes and is divided into four groups: Presidential Scholars, Bronze Scholars, Silver Scholars, and Gold Scholars. All student-athletes with a GPA from 3.0 to 3.24 are Presidential Scholars while Bronze Scholars are 3.25 to 3.49; Silver 3.50 to 3.74 and Gold Scholars are those with a 3.75 to 4.00. In total, the PBC recognized 1,767 student-athletes.
The Clayton State Department of Athletics saw, a record-breaking, 79 student-athletes placed the honor roll. The Department saw 23 Gold Scholars, 22 Silver Scholars, 22 Bronze Scholars, and 12 Presidential Scholars. Leading the department in selections is the women's soccer team with 19 athletes followed by the men's soccer team with 14 selections. The men's and women's track & field and cross country teams both saw 12 selections while women's basketball, men's golf, and men's basketball followed with nine, eight, and four selections, respectively.
