AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Wednesday afternoon the women's soccer preseason poll and the selections for the preseason All-Conference team.
Led by second-year head coach
Ross Henderson, the Clayton State University women's soccer team found themselves fifth in the poll. Flagler, Columbus State, North Georgia, and Lander were the front-runners were picked above Clayton State. The fifth spot is the highest preseason PBC ranking since 2015 when the Lakers were picked to finish third.
Representing the Lakers in the Preseason All-Conference team is sophomore forward
Reia Henry. A native of Coventry, England, Henry looks forward to duplicating her 2021 season in which she scored eight goals, which was ninth in the PBC, and tallied 16 points. Henry also was rewarded for her performance as a second-team All-PBC selection. On the academic side, Henry placed on the PBC Presidential Honor Roll, which recognizes student-athletes who possessed a GPA above 3.0.
Henry is the first Laker to be recognized as a Preseason All-Conference selection since 2016.

The Lakers open their 2022 season on the road as they travel to Valdosta, Ga. to take on the Blazers of Valdosta State on Thursday, August 25
th.
