MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State men's cross country head coach
Mike Mead announced that Khayri Davis (McDonough, Ga.) has signed to run with the Lakers for the 2022 season.
A senior at Union Grove, Davis will follow in the footsteps of his older siblings Na'ilah and Na'im Allen as Laker cross country runners.
"Khayri is going to be a nice addition to our distance program," Mead said. "He is young but understands the work that needs to be done to be a successful distance runner. His siblings, especially his sister Na'ilah, contributed to the program during their time and Khayri can make his mark during his time as a Laker."
An honor roll student at Union Grove High School, Davis is a four-year member of the track & field and cross country team. He finished ninth in the Region Championship his senior season and placed 86-of-219 in the 5-A state championship.
He has finished in the top-20 in the last three Region Championships and helped his team to a region championship during his sophomore season.
Davis plans to major in computer science.
