COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Clayton State men's track & field team closed its indoor regular season Friday at the USC Indoor Open in Columbia, S.C.
The University of South Carolina played host to the meet that featured over 30 institutions from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA.
Clayton State competed in seven events with one of its best results coming in the 4x400m relay. The squad of
Nigel Roulhac,
Joshua Ferrell,
Darryl Jefferson and
Titus Hand placed 3-of-9 with a 3:20.29.
Roulhac also had a solid result in the 400m where he finished 11th after running a 48.99. That time ranks fourth in program history in the indoor 400m. Roulhac now has the fastest 200m, 300m, 400m times this season and was also part of the fastest 4x400m relay time.
In the jumps,
D'Eris Jackson took 19-of-37 in the long jump while
Abijah Wilcox had a 5-of-13 result in the triple jump. Wilcox set his mark of 13.56m on his first attempt. Jackson set his best distance of 6.50m on his third and final attempt.
Three school records were set this indoor season for the men. They will now shift their focus to the outdoor season which begins on March 5 at Southern Wesleyan.
