CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Sophomore
Gyasi Cockrell (Suwanee, Ga.) once again led Clayton State men's cross country as he posted a Top-25 finish as the Lakers came in 8-of-15 at the 2019 Wingfoot XC Classic Friday, September 20. As a team they finished with 215 points.

Coming off of a Top-10 finish in his first meet in the Orange and Blue, Cockrell led the way with a 21-of-142 outing behind a time of 26:40.40 with junior
Zach Czerniak (Suwanee, Ga.) the next highest finisher in 48
th (27:45.60).

Javier Castillo (Forest Park, Ga.) placed 65
th (28:25.10) and junior
Andre' Thompson, Jr. (Stockbridge, Ga.) was five spots back in 70
th with a time of 28:31.20. Redshirt-sophomore
Courtland White (Stockbridge, Ga.) was 73
rd (28:32.80) to round out the top finishers.

For the first time in 18 years Clayton State returns home for a meet on Friday, September 27 as they host the Clayton State Cross Country Challenge Presented by Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The men's race is scheduled for approximately 6:45 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's race.
