DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Clayton State men's track & field positioned themselves for several shots at individual championships as three individuals advanced to finals on Day 2 of the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Championships on Friday, April 19.
Senior
T.J. Witherspoon (Thomasville, Ga.) led the way as he punched his ticket to the 800-meter final tomorrow as he finished 1-of-20 with a time of 1:54.74 while sophomore
Courtland White (Rex, Ga.) joined him in seventh at 1:56.77.
Junior
Chris Florence (Newnan, Ga.), fresh off a berth in the 400-meter final and an NCAA provisional, secured his spot in the 200-meter final as he delivered a 3-of-22 performance behind a time of 22.44. The next highest finisher for Clayton State was freshman
Janei Sewell (Newnan, Ga.) who finished 13
th in that event at 23.32.
The Lakers will have four individuals who have advanced to finals competing for championships along with two additional single competitors and the 4x400-meter relay on the final day of the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Championships on Saturday, April 20. Stay tuned to
