MORROW, Ga. – Currently sitting on the outside looking in on the Peach Belt Conference standings, Clayton State (5-5-1, 2-4-1 PBC) women's soccer travels to Francis Marion (6-5-1, 3-4-0 PBC) in a battle for the No. 8 spot on Saturday, October 26. Game time is slated for 5 p.m.
 
The Patriots currently reside in the final transfer spot with nine points through 12 games while Clayton State has seven points through 11. Ahead of both of them are Columbus State (12 points), Lander (11) and Georgia College (10) in spots 5-7.
 
All-time, the Lakers are 6-8-1 against FMU dating back to the first meeting on October 5, 1996. That 8-0 win was the first of six straight victories through 2001.
 
After the Patriots left for DI following the 2004 season, the teams met twice, deadlocking 1-1 in Florence, South Carolina on October 23, 2005 and with Clayton State notching a 5-0 win in Aiken, South Carolina on September 23, 2015.
 
In FMU's return to the PBC in 2016, the Lakers posted a convincing 4-0 victory at Laker Field on October 1 of that year. They earned a 6-0 decision on the road on September 30, 2017 and most recently delivered a 4-1 victory in Morrow on October 13, 2018. Clayton State is undefeated in the series' last six meetings and has won three of those by shutout. Over the last four they have outscored FMU 19-1.
