AUGUSTA, Ga. – Junior defender
Janne Brouer (Aarhus, Denmark) has been named an All-Peach Belt Conference Second-Team selection following an impressive 2018 campaign.
Â
One of the league's best defenders, Brouer has also been one of the most durable as she has started all 16 games and not left the field. This season she has logged 1,527 minutes – every single one the Lakers have played – and is one of just three members of the team to do so.
Â
Four times this season she was out there all 110 minutes as the club notched four ties, the third most in program history, and posted a pair of shutouts. She was also instrumental in leading Clayton State to seven other games with no more than one goal allowed.
Â
Additionally, Brouer chipped in on the offensive end with a goal and assist. She notched her fifth career score in the season opening 5-3 win at Auburn-Montgomery (8/31) before adding the assist in a 4-1 victory over Francis Marion (10/13).
Â
She becomes the 45
th overall All-PBC selection and extends a stretch of 18 straight years that Clayton State has had at least one player selected to the All-Peach Belt Conference Team. It is the first such honor of her career.
