CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Senior Ariel Boyd-Ghani (Morrow, Ga.) led the way with another 5k personal best as Clayton State women's cross country competed at the Queens Cross Country Challenge on Friday, October 12.
 
The team did not score in the meet with only four runners competing. Due to a major timing incident at the finish of the women's race that took out the timing device, all results were unofficial until the morning of Saturday, October 13.
 
Boyd-Ghani delivered her second 5k PR this season and led the team for the third straight meet as she came in at 105-of-412 with a time of 19:14.00. Not far behind her was sophomore Na'ilah Allen (McDonough, Ga.) in 134^th (19:34.00) and senior Lynnet Kosgei (Eldoret, Kenya) was 237^th (20:53.00). Freshman Stephanie Escobar (Forest Park, Ga.) rounded things out in 283^rd with a time of 21:45.00.
 
Division I Davidson claimed the meet with 112 points ahead of Morehead State (117) and Savannah College of Art & Design-Atlanta (125). Host Queens (145) and Lee (153) rounded out the top five in the field of better than 50 teams.
 
Clayton State will be right back in action next week on their normal Saturday schedule as they take part in the Bobcat Invitational on October 20. Start time is slated for 8:30 a.m.
