MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State (5-2-1, 2-1-1 PBC) wraps up a two-game homestand as they host Francis Marion (0-9, 0-4 PBC) on Saturday, October 1. Game time is set for 5 p.m. as the first game of a doubleheader with the men at Laker Field.
 
It is the first Peach Belt Conference meeting between the teams since September 18, 2004 when FMU posted a 1-0 decision at Laker Field. It is also their last win in the series and last appearance in Morrow, Georgia. While the Patriots have continued to be a PBC member institution during that time, the women's soccer program competed at the Division I level as an elevated program.
 
All-time, the Lakers are 3-8-1 against Francis Marion dating back to the first meeting on October 5, 1996. That 8-0 win was the first of six straight victories through 2001. Since FMU left for DI, the teams have met twice, deadlocking 1-1 in Florence, S.C. on October 23, 2005 and with Clayton State notching a 5-0 win in Aiken, South Carolina on September 23, 2015. In the latter, Denisha Paskell (McDonough, Ga.) delivered a program record four assists.
