MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Taking on the top teams in the region, senior Marcus Lafleur (Douglasville, Ga.) paced Clayton State men's cross country with a 30^th place finish in the 2016 NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championships on Saturday, November 5. As a team, the Lakers finished 17^th out of 24 teams with 381 points.
 
Lafleur shattered his 10k personal best as he notched a time of 32:02.39 to place 30^th out of the 169 competitor field. That time bested his previous top mark of 35:50.90 set at the 2014 NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championships.
 
Sophomore Ryan Polk (Marietta, Ga.) came in at 68^th with a time of 33:10.56 while sophomore Aaron Martin (Lawrenceville, Ga.) was 80^th (33:33.52).
 
Fellow sophomore T.J. Witherspoon (Thomasville, Ga.) was 110^th (34:30.26) with senior Troy Hickom (Cartersville, Ga.) and freshman Keldren Reddick (Thomasville, Ga.) were 124^th (35:05.41) and 135^th (35:31.92), respectively.
 
Clayton State closes out the 2016 season with their 18^th overall appearance in an NCAA Division II Regional and 10^th straight straight trip.
