ABOUT THE LAKER GOLF CLASSIC

Clayton State University Athletics has a short but rich history of success. In the 29-year history of the program, Lakers student-athletes have produced an incredible 133 national postseason appearances (124 NCAA, 9 NAIA), 18 Peach Belt Conference Regular Season Championships, 33 PBC Tournament Titles (25 by individuals) and 76 All-Americans, all with just 12 sports. Highlighting these performances is the 2010-11 women's basketball program, which claimed the first NCAA Division II National Championship in program history.  

Since the origins of the program, Clayton State Athletics has not been funded as well as its conference counterparts in the areas of scholarships or operating expenses. With that knowledge, we have decided to utilize the Laker Club, and specifically the Laker Golf Classic, to provide a boost to the educational and athletic pursuits of our student-athletes.

Whether you are sponsoring the entire event, a team or a hole, your participation will allow Clayton State Athletics to add much needed scholarship dollars for our students to attend summer school and/or come back for a final semester after their playing careers are over. You also have the satisfaction of knowing your contribution will serve the five county South Atlanta Metro community.

2019 CLASSIC INFORMATION

The 2019 Laker Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 26 at Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club in Hampton, Georgia. Registration will be at 8 a.m., followed by a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. During registration there will be a putting contest, silent auction, raffle and other prize opportunities. Breakfast will be provided at 9 a.m. with the awards ceremony to follow the tournament.

A rain out date has yet to be determined but the tournament will be played as scheduled unless the golf course management determines the course to be unplayable.

One of the many ways to be involved with the 2019 Laker Golf Classic, and support the Lakers, is through a number of sponsorship opportunities.

This year's opportunities are: $15,000 Title Sponsor, $5,000 Gold Sponsor, $4,000 Silver Sponsor, $3,000 Bronze Sponsor, $1,500 Longest Drive Sponsor, $1,500 Long Putt Sponsor, $1,500 Closest to the Pin Sponsor and $1,500 Driving Range Sponsor.

In-Kind Contributions

Each in-kind contribution will receive customized recognition based on level of contribution to Clayton State Athletics. We welcome your gifts, your services and your talents to make this tournament a successful endeavor to help the community that we serve and are proud to be members of.

Fees for this year's tournament are $175 per player and $700 per team.

ABOUT THE VENUE: CRYSTAL LAKE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

One of the best golf outings on the south side of Atlanta, Ga. awaits at the Crystal Lake Golf & Country Club in Hampton, Georgia. Designed by renowned Georgia golf course architect Denis Griffiths, the course features a bit from Scotland in the design with a good bit of deception and links style bunkering.

Crystal Lake is more than just a great golf course. The Club is home to a charming clubhouse with an intimate dining room and special event area, delightful grill, pro shop and fitness center. It is a fantastic venue for wedding receptions, corporate business meetings, holiday parties, and golf outings.
