Kalle Kuisma and women's soccer forward
Jael Bruhlmeier earned this week's awards.
A native of Helsinki, Finland, Kuisma really shined for the Lakers in net last week. In the 3-0 shutout win over Christian Brothers, Kalle made a pair of saves on seven shots faced. In the 3-1 victory over Barry, Kuisma made a career-high seven saves on 17 shots faced. Although Kalle conceded a goal, he was instrumental to the Lakers getting off to their best start since 2023.
A native of Riedtwil, Switzerland, Bruhlmeier had herself a match against Emmanuel on Sunday. Bruhlmeier became the first Laker since 2024 to record a hat trick. In fact, Jael scored all goals in the second half. The Lakers went onto win the game, 4-0. She also led the team firing in five shots.
The men's team (2-0) travels down to the Sunshine State on Thursday, September 3
rd as they play Tampa at 7:30 p.m. while the women (1-0) host Lincoln Memorial on Thursday at Laker Field. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
