Men's Basketball Suffers Loss At Home To Georgia Southwestern

Morrow, GA---The Clayton State University men's basketball team hosted Georgia Southwestern University inside The Loch on Wednesday night. The Hurricanes defeated the Lakers 91-66.

The Hurricanes were able to get the first basket of the game but the Lakers responded with a basket of their own. DJ Wright scored the first basket of the game with a pull up jumper. The Lakers were able to see shots go in from inside the paint with baskets coming from Andre Young, and Eddie Page. Halfway through the first half, the Lakers saw themselves down by 10. As the first half went on, the Hurricanes were able to get baskets made from all levels of the floor which led to the Lakers being down by 21 going into the half.

Halftime: Georgia Southwestern 46, Clayton State 25

The Lakers were able to get the first score of the second half. Joe Thomas was able to see a three pointer go in to get the scoring going. The Lakers responded with that three pointer with a dunk by Page. The Lakers were able to see success inside the paint with another dunk by Page and layups by Young and Jojo Bell. The Lakers continued to compete but as the half went on it was the Hurricanes that were able to see their lead grow. Ultimately, the Hurricanes was able to maintain the lead which resulted in a loss for the Lakers.
