BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Clayton State University men's basketball team traveled to Bluffton S.C. to take on the Sand Sharks of USC Beaufort on Saturday evening. From the start, the game was fast and physical, with both teams trading baskets early. The Lakers stayed active, showing strong effort, but the Sand Sharks ultimately held the lead and pulled away down the stretch winning, 76-53.
From the opening tip, the Lakers came out strong.
Dazjanae Greene hit the team's first three pointer to set the tone, while
Jasmyn Burts attacked the paint, creating opportunities for herself and her teammates.
Tianna Dismuke and
Etaria Gibbons controlled the boards, grabbing key rebounds and keeping possessions alive.
Kyla Greene scored inside, and
Nya Young set up teammates with smart passes. That energy carried through the second quarter as the Lakers battled to stay within striking distance heading into halftime.

After the break, the Lakers pushed to chip away at the lead. Burts and Gibbons attacked the basket, while Dismuke made hustle plays on both ends, grabbing rebounds and forcing turnovers. In the fourth quarter, Burts and Dismuke continued scoring inside,
Kyla Greene stayed active on the boards, and Young added two assists.
Jada Grigsby hit a three point shot to give the Lakers a spark late in the game. Despite their effort and energy, USC Beaufort maintained control, keeping the Lakers from closing the gap, winning the game, 76-53.
