AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced on Wednesday the Preseason Coaches' Poll and All-Conference selections for the 2025 men's soccer season. The Clayton State University men's soccer squad are well-represented on this honor roll.
All-American defender
Othmane Chagour and captain
Miguel Torrecillas were honored as preseason all-conference selections. The Lakers, as a team, found themselves in second place in the coaches' poll despite receiving three first place votes. The Lakers are coming off on of their most successful seasons in program history and are seeking their third-straight Regular Season title.
A native of Casablanca, Morocco, Chagour had a great season for the Lakers back in 2024. Othmane earned a third-team All-America selection and was a first team All-SE Region and All-Conference. Chagour played in all 21 matches, knocked in a pair of goals and added a pair of assists. Othmane was a part of a Laker defensive unit that only allowed more than one goal in five matches last season. A native of Albacete, Spain, Torrecillas received his first preseason all-conference honor. Miguel turned-in a great season in 2024 as he played in 19 matches and was instrumental in setting up spectacular and key scoring opportunities. The Laker offensive attack outscored opponents, 42-21 and averaged two goals a match.

The Lakers open their 2025 regular season on the road as they play Nova Southeastern on Thursday, September 4
th at 7:30 p.m. The Lakers will wrap up their Sunshine State road trip on Saturday, September 6
th against Barry University. That match is also set for 7:30 p.m.
