MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- #5 Clayton State University men's soccer team concluded its tour of Florida playing Barry University on Saturday evening. The match ended in a 1-1 draw with both goals coming in the second half.
The first 45 minutes resulted in both teams not finding the back of the net and the score stood at 0-0. The Bucanners took control of the match in most of the half and marked seven shots and took eight corners. However, the Lakers picked it up offensively towards the end and saw
Jussi Gerberding,
Gonzalo LaChica, and
Manoel Neto fire in shots.
In the final three minutes of the half, the Lakers found themselves down a man as the referee drew a red card putting the Buccaneers up a man going into the halftime break. In net, Georgia Roke made four saves on seven shots faced.
Halftime: #5 Clayton State 0, Barry 0
That red card proved to be the difference maker in the early stages of the second half as Barry knocked in the match's first goal in the 58
th minute and led 1-0. The Lakers then answered back. In the 68
th minute and after a Barry yellow card,
Camilo Velez sent in a free kick and LaChica headed the ball to senior

The rest of the match was firmly controlled by the Buccaneers but the goalkeeping by Roke and the stout Laker defense halted any scoring opportunity as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
