MORROW, Ga. – Clayton State University head cross country coach Troy Hickom announced on Monday morning the 2025 cross country schedule. The schedule features five meets in the state of Georgia and one in North Carolina and Alabama, each.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK BACK
Clayton State cross country celebrated a lot of success last season. The men's team placed fourth in the Conference meet and recorded three top five team finishes over the course of the season. The women's team finished seventh in the conference and recorded one top five finish as a team. The Lakers bring back a lot of key runners for the upcoming season including
Camron Gaddis,
Rakiem Barnes and
Marley Tate and
Ivorie Smith.
THE 2025 SLATE
The Lakers open their season in Gainesville, Ga. at the University of North Georgia Invitational on September 12
th and in Albany, Ga. on September 19
th at the Willie Laster Invitational. After Clayton State runs in the GCSU Invitational on September 26
th, the Lakers compete at the Georgia Tech Invitational at Bouckart Farms in Fairburn on October 3
rd.
The Lakers then close out the regular season in Huntsville, Ala. at the UAH Invitational on October 11
th. Coach Hickom's squad then competes in the postseason as they travel down to Milledgeville for the Peach Belt Conference Championships on October 25
th before finishing their season at the NCAA DII Southeast Regionals on November 8
th in Charlotte, North Carolina.
