AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released its Team of Academic Distinction (TOAD) selections for women's basketball on Monday afternoon. Clayton State University women's basketball players
Etaria Gibbons and
Jadah Waite earned this honor. This is the first time for Gibbons while Waite earned this distinction for the third time in her illustrious career.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Gibbons had a solid season for Coach Coleman and the Lakers. Etaria played in 28 games and finished third on the team with 116 total rebounds. She led the team with 77 defensive rebounds and shot a team-best 51% from the field. Gibbons, who is studying Health & Fitness Management, also earned CSC Academic All-District honors this season.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Waite ends her career as one of the most accomplished Laker women's basketball players in program history. This season saw Waite lead the team in several offensive categories including points (328), points a game (13.2), three-pointers made (41), and field goals (129). Waite scored her 1,000
th career point back on January 18
th against Flagler and notched 23 games of double-digit scoring. Waite, who studied Sociology, is a three-time PBC TOAD selection and earned CSC Academic All-District honors in 2025.
ABOUT THE HONOR
To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieve a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) complete at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.
